Anchor Health Initiative is seeking a Temporary Certified Medical Assistant for our Stamford office to start October 1, 2019.

Job Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Using computer applications, electronic medical record
• Answering telephones
• Greeting patients
• Updating and filing patient medical records
• Coding and filling out insurance forms and pharmacy prior authorizations
• Scheduling appointments
• Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
• Handling correspondence

Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Taking medical histories
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients
• Preparing patients for visit
• Assisting the physician during exams
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Performing basic laboratory tests
• Instructing patients about medication and special diets
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed
• Drawing blood
• Taking electrocardiograms
• Responding to pharmacy requests for medication refills
• Acting as a patient liaison for routine medical and pharmacy questions

Qualifications:
• Medical terminology: 1 year
• Medical Office Experience: 1 year
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Epic preferred
• CMA certified
• Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment required
• Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required

Candidates should be professional in demeanor and appearance, reliable, mature, friendly, a quick learner and able to communicate well with people of varying backgrounds, specifically the LGBTQ
population.

Bilingual desirable, but not required
